This is the fourth entry in our series: 10 points to consider when setting up Insight, Innovation and Strategy Communities.

Getting a community active is only half the job – the other half is engaging colleagues internally.
There is plenty you can do. Prior to launch, organise face-to-face events, real time digital workshops, community surgeries and a Launch Event. Invite the wider organisation to help define the projects/questions the community will tackle.
Be sure to identify your hero project(s) – the ones you’ll be able to use as case studies of community success. Ensure that every community project finishes with a face-to-face workshop that translates the community findings into business actions. And don’t forget to create an internal engagement plan: from tagging people with their areas of interest, through to creating monthly magazines on the latest community news.

This is a really important point.
I think you want to work with the type of people in organisations that have a sign above their desk saying “There Is A Better Way”. Or a picture of Darwin next to their computer.
