How to effectively utilize online co-creation and communities

RULE 6 – ALLOW YOUR CO-CREATORS TO SHAPE THE INNOVATION AGENDA

Most communities allow consumers to not only participate in “brand-initiated activities” but also start their own discussions, ideation sessions and brainstorms. It is through these consumer-generated activities that unexpected “platforms for innovation” are uncovered. Suddenly consumers are not only responding to the issues at the top of management’s agendas, but they are also demanding attention be paid to what’s on their mind. This process generates genuinely consumer-focused innovation platforms. It helps the decision makers identify a wider set of opportunities.
